Under the supervision of Lieutenant Mike Hatler, the Training Bureau is responsible for ensuring that the officers of the Evesham Township Police Department have the most up to date training including in-service training, roll call training and our field training program. Officers in the agency participate in continuing education programs and instruction on a daily basis as part of their career advancement and service to the community. Officers receive in-service training prepared by the Training Bureau as well as attending sessions at outside agencies and police academies. The Evesham Police Department strives to provide our officers with the most updated, advanced and efficient means of receiving training on changes in law and procedures as well at the changes in society and the needs of the community.

Lieutenant Michael Hatler has been a police officer since 2013, when he joined the Evesham Township Police Department after graduating from the Gloucester County Police Academy’s Alternate Route Program. Lieutenant Hatler earned bachelor’s degree in Law and Justice studies from Rowan University in 2012 with a minor in Psychology. Since joining the Evesham Township Police Department Lieutenant Hatler has served as an FTO, Physical Fitness Instructor and was assigned to the Investigative Bureau in 2017. In 2020, Lieutenant Hatler was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he supervised in both the Patrol Bureau and the Traffic Bureau. Lieutenant Hatler also serves as the agency's Wellness Program Coordinator, is a member of the Multi-Agency Police Peer Support Team in Burlington County and represents the agency as an instructor at the NJSACOP Command and Leadership Academy. In June of 2025, Lieutenant Hatler was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he began his service as the Training and Planning Bureau Commander.
