Nicholas Sassi, 28 of Pennsville was arrested for Shoplifting at the Shoprite store on State Highway 70 in Evesham Township. On Sunday, October 11 at approximately 1:46 PM, Sassi was observed by store employees attempting to conceal merchandise on his person. As Sassi attempted to leave the store he was detained by employees who then contacted Evesham Police. The merchandise that Sassi attempted to conceal totaled approximately $550. While being processed for this arrest Police learned of an active warrant for Sassi issued by Camden City Municipal Court in the amount of $200. Sassi was placed in the Burlington County Jail on $10,000 bail for the shoplifting charge along with the active Camden City warrant.
